Putting up the Tree

This is the first year that we put up a tree. We will be spending Christmas here in Denver and what is Christmas morning without a Christmas tree! We had Lily help us decorate the tree. I thought it would be a little crazy, but she was so good about putting the ornaments on the tree or handing them to Daddy and watching them be placed way up high. She really likes the tree and had fun with the decorating! We all had a great time together putting up our tree and placing our special ornaments on. We collect an ornament each year and now we have a tree to place them on. This year we added a Nauvoo temple ornament.

We Are Thankful!

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time of year and the perfect way to start the Christmas season. This year I have so many things to be grateful for. I have the most amazing husband and daughter. I have good health, a loving Heavenly Father who shows me daily that he loves me! I have a wonderful family! I have been protected in harms way! I have a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I could go on and on, but I wont. I will end with one last thing though, I have great friends! This year my friends took the place of family as we celebrated Thanksgiving here in Denver this year. It is the first time I have celebrated without being around the extended family! We had a great time! The food turned out wonderfully and the company was even better! We shared our Thanksgiving feast with a few friends that are new to the Thanksgiving tradition and I think that made it even better! I really think it was a success! Who knows what next year will hold for us and our Thanksgiving! My Eternal Family is my greatest blessing! I love them so much and must say that we are a good looking family too!

These are our Mexico friends, Jorge and Aleida. TJ works with Jorge. They moved here on Monday and so obviously it is their first Thanksgiving!

Catch Up!

We have been slacking a little on posting pictures of our adorable little Lily. Here are a few from the last couple of weeks.

We were going to have a party with some of Lily's friends for her birthday, but the swine flu was going around our ward at the time, so we canceled it. One of our friends had already gotten her a present and so a few weeks ago she gave it to Lily. It was the perfect present for her! It is a little pink purse with accessories in it. Lily knew exactly what to do with the lipstick, even though I do not wear it! She loves her purse! We were getting ready to leave the day she got it, and what does she do but go and get it! She knows that mommy takes a purse with her when we leave the house so she knew that she needed to take hers! She was so proud to have her purse with her. The whole time we were in the car she had the biggest grin on her face as she held tight to her purse! This is the only girly thing that she does!

This is Oliver, or Oli, that Lily got for her birthday. She sleeps with him every night. She loves to cuddle him. I thought this was a super cute picture so I had to share!

This is one of Lily's new games to play. she has double doors on her room and she loves to play peek-a-boo with them! I love that she squats as she comes out of the door and around the corner of the couch! We have fun playing this game and laughing for long periods of time each day!

OPA!

To preface this video...Lily loves to play on her shelf. Not only do I think it is fun to watch her climb in but you can hear her say her new word! She has started to say, "ah ow, opa!" She says it over and over. It makes me laugh every time. She first heard it at the park by some little boy, when she started to say it, so then I worked with her a little to say it! Hope you enjoy it!

Silly Lily!

Lily makes me laugh. She is our SILLY LILY! Everything she does is hilarious and makes us laugh! Just for the record, Lily comes up with these things all on her own! I would love to know what she is thinking and cannot wait to hear what she has to say when she she can say it!I was hysterical when Lily was doing this. She was pressing her head against the container lid. She looked so funny with her little noes smashed up and her big smile!
Can you tell that she is proud of herself! She loves to make me laugh and gets so happy when she does! I sure do love her!
To preface these photos...The bottom shelf has soda on it. There were three things of it and Lily tried to climb in but couldn't fit. This caused her to get frustrated. I moved two of them and she climbed right in and sat on the soda! She sat like that for a while with her big grin! For the next little while she climbed in and out laughing. This is one of her favorite places to go and play now!

Christmas Crafting!

I have had the crafting bug lately. With Christmas coming I have wanted to add some new decorations. Here are a few of my favorites that I have made lately!This is a chalkboard plate that I made into my very own Christmas Countdown!
I got this idea from another blog. It is made with ornaments from Dollar Tree! I really like the way it turned out! I have wanted a wreath for a while now and now I have one!
This is my reindeer family! I had the wood cut to make apples, but with Christmas so close, I decided to make reindeer instead! I have a friend that is making these block decorations for every season and so I took her idea and come up with these! Thanks Tricia for letting me copy you!

More Lily!

Lily is getting more and more into playing with us and playing games. The other night TJ and Lily played Hide and Seek and it was the funniest thing. TJ would hide in our room and Lily would go in there and find him and then run away from him as he chased her. She was laughing so hard the whole time they played! It was so fun to watch them have so much fun. She also loves to build things with us before she destroys them. Another favorite is puppets!Lily loves to play with any ball. She will seek out a ball no matter where we are. The bigger the better!
She loves to play with puppets as well as listen to the silly puppet shows that Dad and Mom put on. I just love this picture of the puppies on her hands!

The other night she decided that it would be a great idea to see if she could fit under the shelf. She is so silly! As you can see there is a ball close by!
