Great Movie

Last night TJ and I had a date night at home. We watched a great movie called Fireproof. WOW! It stars Kirk Cameron. It came to theaters in September and ever since I have wanted to see it. It is about a couple that is facing divorce and how they deal with it. I thought it looked good, but I was surprised at just how good it was. Kirk Cameron plays a firefighter named Caleb. His work motto is, "Never leave your partner behind." He is not as good at living this motto outside of work though. As his marriage is facing the end, his dad has a talk with him. He tells him that his own marriage was once on the verge of ending. He said that it took a lot of work but that it was now stronger than it ever had been. He also asked Caleb what it was that bothered him about his wife Catherine that was so bad that it would end their marriage. Caleb asked his dad, "How am I supposed to show love to somebody who constantly rejects me?" His father told him that Jesus Christ shows us that kind of love. When we reject Christ, he still continues to love us. His father said it was the Savior that saved his marriage. Then is dad tells him to put off divorce for 40 days. He would be sending something to Caleb that would take 40 days to complete. Caleb agreed. The challenge to complete was called THE LOVE DARE. Each day Caleb was to follow the instructions and take one day at a time. Caleb starts out just doing the motions without his heart being in it. Each day gets a little harder as his wife continually rejects his actions. Caleb turns to his dad many times along the way as he thinks things are done. His father tells him to stick in there.
The movie is just so touching as Caleb starts to change. It amazed me just how much religion was a part of the movie. I was not expecting there to be any religion in it, but I agree with everything they say. It is inspired by a Baptist Church pastor, but his ideals about the relationship that God and Jesus Christ play in marriage are right on. You have to have a three way marriage for it to stay strong when fire hits. The whole message is to make sure that you fireproof your marriage. Being fireproof does not mean that fire will not come, it means that you will be able to know how to react when it does. I am telling you that this is a movie worth watching. I hardly ever cry during a movie, but there is one point in the movie that I just cried as Caleb is finally communicating with is wife. Watching this movie made me love TJ even more than I already do.
So sorry this post is so long, but I wanted to share this great movie experience with anyone that ever reads it. I would suggest that you watch it sometime. I hope you like it as much as I did. TJ even woke up this morning saying that he liked the movie. So if this inspired you to watch it great it just came to DVD on Tuesday. If not I hope I didn't bore you ... well I guess if it was boring you wouldn't have made it this far in reading.

Lily's Tricks and Stories

I know that I post a lot of Lily, but she is what is interesting in our lives right now. And plus she is super cute and I am a mom that likes to brag about her little girl! Lily is growing up so fast and this is a great way to share with everyone her development.
This was day one... I set her down in her chair and she wiggled sideways to get to the bird on her toy. She was smiling big and proud that she had finally had gotten close enough to the bird to fit him in her mouth.
Day two..I once again set her in her chair, this time to watch Baby Mozart, and she stuck both of her fists in her mouth and started talking like crazy. She always has something in her mouth. Most of the time it is a toy plus a finger or her whole hand. If she doesn't have a toy she has both fists in her mouth.
Day three...when I set her in her chair this time, she scooted almost off the chair. She was so happy that I just left her like that as I watched her play. She talks and talks to her animals and sings to the songs. She is quite the talker just like her mom.
This was Lily's first time in the stroller without her big car seat in it. She was so proud. She was looking at everything and talking. She also loves to sit in the shopping cart at the store the same way. She isn't steady enough yet, so I put blankets around her, but man does she love it. She grabs the handle and looks around with a big smile on her face to let everyone know she is a big girl and proud of it. Each day is so much fun with her. I am so lucky to be able to stay at home with her. Thanks love!

Finally, a funny story from today. We were at Church and she talked through the Sacrament, sang songs with the congregation, and talked through the talks. That was just the beginning. I took her to Young Woman's, where she talked through the lesson (Sorry Pilar). When I went to make a comment, she started talking louder and louder so you could no longer hear me. I just laughed. Then she started to fake cough to get more attention. I have a little babe that loves attention and will do anything to get it. She is absolutely adorable! I sure do love her! I am glad that it is talking and not crying that she loves to do the absolute most!

On a side note, Lily is growing so fast. She will roll onto her side, but wont go all the way over. She likes to stop and play with her toys and doesn't make it all the way. I am sure it wont be long until she rolls all the way. She is almost sitting up all by herself. She does okay until she leans back a little and then she is done and falls backwards (don't worry, I always catch her!). She is sleeping from 7:30pm til 7 am!!!!! She also finally decided that naps are a good thing. Until Christmas she really didn't nap. Now she takes a short nap in the morning and a good 2 hr. nap in the afternoon! Now that I have said that, she will probably start to teeth soon and get all thrown off, but for now I am in paradise! I love my little girl so much! I also love her daddy! Well I hope you enjoyed hearing about all of Lily's tricks and stories!

3 month pictures

So here are some of Lily's 3 month pictures. She was so smiley for her pictures. This presented a problem because I didn't want to spend a ton of money, but it was near impossible to decide which pictures to get. Lily is just too pretty!

For the Grandmas - With lots of Hugs and Kisses from Lily

I know that it is very hard for the Grandmas and everyone else to be away from their grand babies. This is the reason that I post so many pictures of Lily all the time. Plus she is just too CUTE not to post a ton of pictures of her all the time! So here are some of the pictures from the past month of Lily growing up way too fast!
Lily doesn't like to lay down as much anymore. She tries very hard to pull herself up so that she is sitting up. She is super strong and I'm sure it wont be long before she is sitting up on her own.
Lily is getting interested in TOYS! She tries very hard to get anything she is given into her mouth. She also loves her stories. I will read her books and then just let her look at the pictures and she touches the book and talks to it. She is adorable I must say!
So 3-6 month clothing is much more adorable than 0-3 month clothing. I must say it was hard to bring out the bigger ones, but once I did, I decided that they were much more adorable. This outfit was a hit on Sunday with all the ladies in the ward. Thanks Aunt Betsy for the super cute outfit.

These two pictures are of Lily looking at herself in the mirror and talking up a storm. She loves the mirror now. I can place her in front of it and she is happy while I do whatever else I need to do.

Yet another super cute dress. She is such a happy baby!

GO BYU okay I guess Aggies too!

So Lily has her very first BYU shirt and pants (thanks to Grandma Gray!) and she looks so cute in them. Daddy loves that her little girl wears BYU already! So for all you BYU fans out there, know that there is another one in the making!
As far as the title of this entry... the same day she got her new BYU gear, her aunt Marci (who is going to Utah State) gave her an Aggies onesie. We are okay with this because it is not RED!!! So for Marci, we will let Lily cheer for the Aggies too! I hope you enjoy the picture!

This is what Lily must be thinking in this picture, "I am so happy to be wearing BYU! I know that Daddy will give me extra cuddles tonight!"
I love the almost mischievous look on her face in this picture!
Yes she looks cute in Aggies wear too.
