IDAHO TRIP

It has been over a year since we have made it to Idaho.  So we packed up the kids and headed to Idaho to visit family and see Potato harvest!  We were able to spend a week visiting and having a lot of fun!

TUESDAY
We got up super early to start our drive to miss Denver traffic.  We had a great car ride.  Lily was PERFECT!  I know that is a big statement, but it was so true!  I brought some fun activities for Lily to do, but most of the time she just sat there.  I think she looked at 2 books, colored for 15 minutes and watched a show for maybe 5 minutes.  The best part was when she wanted to play Mommy.  She was Mommy and then Daddy and I was Lily and Dad was Logan.  Lily does a really good Mom!  I would ask her a question and she would give the perfect mom answer!  We were all laughing pretty hard!  Logan had some moments when he had a hard time falling asleep, but other than that it was a great trip!  Once we got there, we went out to visit Grandpa at the Farm and then had dinner and went to bed.
 WEDNESDAY
We woke up and had a nice relaxing morning.  We were waiting for Kim and Cody to come and play!  Kim and Cody were able to spend from Wednesday - Saturday at Grandma and Grandpa's house!  Lily sure loves playing with her cousins!  TJ and I also got to spend a little time by ourselves while Grandma watched the kids!  We headed to Pocatello and did a little Birthday shopping for Lily!  That night TJ grilled us some Salmon!  After Dinner, I helped my mom freeze some peaches for us to take back to Denver!  I figured it was the least I could do after she had already canned a box of peaches for us!
Lily and Cody playing Playdough with Grandma
Before bed, Lily and Cody got to pick a story for Grandma to read.  Logan wanted to be part and Liy wanted to have Logan sit on his lap.  Can you tell he loves to smile for the camera!  He was looking at the book until he saw the camera, then it was all smiles for the little man!
 THURSDAY
Thursday was a big day!  We headed out to the farm to spend some more time with Grandpa.  When we went out the first time, Lily didn't get to ride the tractor and she was very sad about that and so she was so excited to go back and get her turn on the tractor!  We met Grandpa at the potato cellar and loaded some boxes of potatoes to take home!
If you have ever seen potato harvest, you know it is pretty amazing how the whole thing works!  I still am amazed when I see it and I grew up with it every year!
 WOW! POTATOES!

Walking back to the pile.  This cellar holds 150,000 100lbs bags of potatoes!  What makes it even more amazing is that it only takes 2- 3 days to fill it!

Grandpa helping Lily up the tractor.  We got to go for a ride with one of the kids I used to babysit.  He is SO not a little kid anymore!  Lily really enjoyed the ride!

Lily would have stayed in the feild all day and played!  She also LOVED filling her pockets with Lily sized potatoes!  Not every day a city girl gets to play in the dirt!  She sure took advantage of her opportunity to get a little dirty!

Showing off her potato before she put it in her pocket!

After we left the farm, we headed to Pocatello for lunch at Johnny B Goods and some fun at McKee's Pet store, which has a petting zoo attached.  Lunch was delicious and the kids had a great time looking at and petting all the pets!  Lily was amazed that they even had a monkey, not to pet though.
Yes that is a potato from Lily's pocket.  While we were waiting for our food, she was sharing her potatoes with everyone!

Logan loved that the goats were his size!  He had no reservations about petting the goats!
Lucky for him the goats did not choose to have some Logan fingers for lunch!  He was one happy little guy!

There were a lot of other things to play on mixed in with the petting zoo!  Lily and Cody had a blast!
Until Mom had her go into the jail!
After the petting zoo, we headed home to get the dutch ovens going for dinner!  I had requested dutch oven food while we were there!  We did chicken, potatoes and yummy fresh peach cobbler!  Brian and Debbie showed up for dinner and the weekend!  That meant Lily and Cody had another cousin to play with, Emily!

FRIDAY
Friday we took the kids out to the fish hatchery and let them feed the fish.  They had a great time!  It was fun to wath them feed the fish.  I think Cody fed them the biggest pieces, Emily fed them medium sized pieces and Lily fed them the smallest pieces.  This meant that Cody went through the most bread and then Emily and then Lily!  They loved watching the fish jump out and get the food!  Luckily no one fell in the water!  They all got pretty close, but we all left dry!

So serious!  They all worked so hard to feed the fish!

After the Fish Hatchery we went into town and had a picnic lunch at the park and let the kids play.  Logan had a great time playing with Cody's dog, T-REX!  He loves anything at his level!
!

When we made it back to Grandma and Grandpa's house, the kids took a nap!  While they napped, Kim and I went over to our Great Aunt Julia's house to bead with her!  She is so tallented and taught us some fun things!  By the end of the weekend, I had everything to make a fun bracelet for Lily, all from Aunt Julia!  I had so much fun being with her.  Her husband is my Grandpa Warner's brother.  Because of this realtionship, I was able to feel a little closer to my own grandparents!  I cant wait to go back and do some more crafts!  I am almost done with Lily's bracelet!  Friday night Steven and Annie and Annie's mom also joined in on the party!  I love to have a house full of family!  I just wish that everyone would have been there!  Friday was a lot of visiting and party prep!

SATURDAY
Saturday was Lily's "REAL" birthday!  It was a perfect day!  She woke up early enough to get to spend a little time with Grandpa Warner before he headed out to the farm.  She quickly saw her crown on the table and put it on!  She was all smiles and so excited to be 3!!!
So as soon as she woke up we let her open a present.  She picked a puzzle and went right to work with Dad and Grandpa to put it together!  She got two 100 piece puzzles.  These are the biggest onese we have done and she is doing very well with them!

Next she got to open a present from Cody, a paint set that lights up!  She LOVES this!
Then she got to pick what she wanted for breakfast and she chose pancakes.  Anut Kimmy helped me make the pancakes.  After breakfast it was time to start in on the birthday fun!  The kids each painted a beautiful picture on canvas.  Lily made a rainbow that will hang in her room.

After the painting, it was time to open a very special present!  Grandma Warner put a lot of love and time into a beautiful skirt for her!

 It is her twirl skirt!
Then it was time for a few more presents!  After that it was time to get dressed so we could go back out to the farm.  It was also time to say goodbye to Kim and Cody.  They were off to meet David for a camping trip.  Lily is always bad with goodbyes!  She doesn't like them!
Lily was super lucky and got to spend her big day with both sets of grandparents! -  Side note, when I told her that both grandparents would be there, she got so excited!  She also thought she had 3 grandpa's!  Grandpa Warner, Grandpa Gray and Grandpa Rob!  We had to explain that Grandpa Gray and Grandpa Rob are the same person! -  Once Grandma and Grandpa Gray and Tiff and Cass got to Grandma and Grandpa Warner's house, we took lunch out to the farm and had some more fun!  It was fun to show Grandma and Grandpa Gray the farm and the harvest production!  I think they were all amazed!

I love this picture!  Logan is always after whatever Lily has!

When we came back from the farm, all of my Dad's sibblings were at the house!  WE HAD A VERY FULL HOUSE!  It was great!  I wish it happened more often when we could be there!  We had a great time laughing and eating!  Lily had a great time being the center of attention!  She also wore herself out and took an hour nap on the livingroom floor while the men watched some football!
Once she was awake, I asked her if she was ready to eat dinner.  She wanted to open presents.  I told her she could after she ate.  Well then I noticed the time and it was approching the time the men needed to go to Priesthood Session of General Conference, so I told her we would open presents, eat cupcakes, and then she would have dinner.  At first she was a little concerned that she hadn't had her dinner yet.  But once she was convinced it was okay, she was so excited to do presents!  She got some really fun things!  The best reaction came after she opened her new backback!  Her response was, "This is what I always wanted!"  I am sure glad we decided to get her one!

Once again, Lily got to have everyone sing to her!  She would let us every day!

After cupcakes and then dinner, it was time for more birthday games!  We set up the Candyland board again and played!

Lily is so ready for school!  She put her new jacket on and then her backback and then told me she was off to school.  When she came back into the living room, she told me all about how they played, painted, and finished painting at school.  What a growing girl! We LOVE her so much and we are so glad she had such a special day!  We loved having family to share it with!  We were so happy that Grandma and Grandpa Gray made the trip too!

After the men made it home from Priesthood, we made some homemade fresh peach ice cream!  After that we had to say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa Gray and Tiff and Cass.

SUNDAY
Sunday was a great day!  We listened to General Conference.  After the first session, we had lunch with everyone before some of them had to leave.  Steven and Annie had to leave and then so did Brian, Debbie and Emily.  Lily was very sad when they left.  All her friends had left and that made her sad.  She cant wait to be able to play with her cousins again!  Hopefully it isn't too long before that happens!
Playing with Uncle Stevie during conference
Uncle Brian had fun with Logan
Grandpa and Logan were worn out and fell asleep together!  I love the my dad is smiling while he is sleeping!  These two are great buds!
So a funny story...Lily got "Tangled" (that is what she calls her unless you ask what her name is!) for her birthday from mom and dad.  Well, Logan LOVES her!  I have mentioned before that Logan loves anything at his level, well that is so true!  He was talking to her and waiting for her to respond back!  We were laughing so hard!  I wish I would have gotten a video of it!  He was smiling at her and talking up a storm.  I would venture to say that Logan buddy has a little crush on Rapunzel!  I guess he is taking after his Dad once again!

We had such a great trip to Idaho!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Warner and everyone else who made our weekend great!  And for all the fun!
