Rice Cereal!!

It is crazy to think that we are at the Rice Cereal stage again!  Our little guy is growing up so fast!  Yesterday, July 18, 2011, we gave Logan his first helping of rice cereal!  To say he enjoyed it would be an understatement!  He LOVED it!  He could hardly wait for the next spoon to get in his mouth!  Lily also LOVE LOVE LOVED helping to feed him.  It was so fun to watch her help him and the excitement on her face!  What a great big helper!

He had to get his hand on the spoon every time!  He would hold on as tight as he could to make it hard for you to take it away from him!  We sure have a good eater!

Showing everyone that he could do it himself!  He is really good at getting it to his mouth!  I am certain we have a lot of messy messes coming our way very soon!

Pool Fun

Yesterday it was 98 degrees and so we decided that it would be a perfect day to pull out the kiddie pool and fill it up!  Lily was so excited to be getting it out!  Once it was filled, she couldn't wait to get in!  She was a little hesitant because it was cold!  It didn't take her long until she was used to the water and having a great time!  Logan had a great time as well!  He LOVES to be outside and he LOVES water!  It was a fun time in the backyard!  I am sure we will have many more days out in the back yard this summer!

I love this picture of her curls!  I am not sure where they came from but I love them!

We came in for lunch and this is what Lily did.  As soon as I put Logan down Lily went and curled up by him!  She loves to be by her little brother!

Look Who's 4 Months Old!

Our little guy is 4 months old!  I can hardly believe it!  He is not so little anymore!  At his 4 month check up he was in the 80 percentile for his weight and 87% for height!  He sure is growing up too fast!  He is very strong and loves to stand and sit with help.  He is doing good at sitting by himself until he starts to get excited!  He still has some work to do on controlling his jerks of excitement!  He is a great sleeper just like his sister!  He sleeps from 8pm - 6:30am and has for the past 2 months!  He is laughing and cooing like crazy!  He has the biggest smile and gives it to you all the time!  We sure are enjoying him so much!

Dancing for Blueberries!

A few weeks ago we bought a bunch of blueberries to freeze for fruit smoothies.  I was in the process of washing them and laying them out to dry when all the sudden I notice that one of the containers is missing.  I went to look in the other room and I found Lily dancing and eating the blueberries!  Lily LOVES her blueberries as well as dancing, so what a perfect activity to dance while eating the blueberries!  What a silly little girl!

I love that she didn't even know that I caught her in the act and took some pictures!  She was enjoying her time way too much to notice that she had been caught!

We LOVE you Daddy!

"I'm so glad when Daddy comes home!  Glad as I can be!"  Lily LOVES her dad and she loves singing the "Daddy song" and blowing Daddy a great big kiss.  Logan also LOVES his daddy and loves to give him big grins!  We absolutely LOVE to spoil him!  On Fathers Day Lily and I got up a little early to make our special Daddy breakfast in bed!  We made him waffles and Lily put chocolate chips in them!

After breakfast came the presents!  This is Lily's favorite part of any celebration!  Lily and Logan gave Daddy a special Daddy book.  They give him a new one every year.  These are some of Daddy's favorite books to read the kids and Lily only lets Daddy read them to her!  We also got him some new tools to try out on the grill!
After breakfast and presents came the real fun!  Okay so it wasn't fun at all, but it turned out to be better than it could have!  TJ went into the basement to get on the computer only to find wet carpet and a leaking ceiling!  This is not the first time.  The first time we found the same place leaking, we traced it to the icemaker in the fridge.  Well this time it was a lot worse.  We thought that we might have to call a plumber to have them come fix whatever was causing the leak, which couldnt be the icemaker because we had turned it off and hadn't turned it back on from the first leak.  We then found that the source of the leak was the fridge again.  We turned off the water to the house and then called a man from our ward who is an appliance repair man!!!!  He said he would come over after church and fix the problem.  When he came over he had the problem fixed in half an hour.  Lily was his helper, shining a flashlight the table to help him see behind the fridge!  He was super cute with his little helper!  She even got a job offer from her amazing help skills!  It turned out that the pressure gage broke and that was causing all the issues! The rest of the day was great and relaxing!

Just to share a super cute story from the day involving our sweet Lily...So every Fathers Day the Primary children sing to the Dads at Church.  They invited all the children to come up to sing and they even invited the Nursery kids that would like to go up...Lily thought that was super cool!  TJ walked her to the front of the gym and then she walked the rest of the way by herself.  She walked up and went to the back.  The kids sang and then left the stand...that is all but Lily!  As the kids left, we see Lily sitting on the choir chairs as happy as can be.  TJ walked up to get her because she had no intention on coming back down by herself!  When he got up to get her, he asked her what she was doing.  She responded, "I am watching them bang the keys on the piano!"  So apparently, she enjoyed the piano and not so much the singing!  Oh how I love that little girl!  I guess if we start to have issues with her during Sacrament meeting, we should send her up to the stand to sit by the piano or the Bishop!  She likes him too!

TJ is an amazing dad!  Lily and Logan are so blessed to have such a loving and kind dad!  Lily loves to play tag and chase with her dad.  She loves to run and give him hugs when he comes home.  She especially loves to dance with her dad!  Logan loves to cuddle with daddy and gives him some super great smiles!  As Logan gets bigger, I know that they will love to go golfing and play baseball together!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July.  Lily woke up asking if it was "in July yet?"  She knew that when it was the 4th of July that she got to wear her special dress.  She had been asking almost every day as soon as it was July.  When I told her it was the 4th of July she got so excited!  She couldn't wait to put on her dress and get her hair done.  All day long she would tell people she was wearing her "in July dress!"  It made me smile every time she would call it "in July" instead of the 4th of July.
Our morning started with a Flag ceremony and Pancake breakfast at the Church.  Then we headed to the firework stand to buy some sparklers (we still have to do them because we ran out of time when it was dark enough and there weren't a ton of people around) and snap pops.  Lily was so excited to be buying fireworks!
We then went to a BBQ with some friends and then it was off to the Bellview Park to wait for the Fireworks!

We had to park and hike over to the park.  It was such a perfect night.  It was a little overcast so the temperature went down from the 90's it had been all day!

While we waited for the show to start, we broke out the glow necklaces and bracelets!  Lily had requested these special for the night!  She made sure that everyone, including Logan, had something to wear!

I thought for sure that Logan would have fallen asleep before the show since his bed time is usually 8:30, but he stayed awake and actually enjoyed the show!  He would follow the fireworks in the sky and he was kicking a mile a minute!  He was so excited!  I would cover his ears at the loud ones but he didn't seem to mind the noise!  Lily loved cuddling up with Daddy and watching the show!  We had a great time as a family!
How blessed we are to be living in this beautiful country!  We are so blessed to be free!  We know that freedom costs so much and we thank those who fight to keep us free!  What an amazing time to be alive!

Play Time

Logan is getting into playing more and more each day.  He loves his bouncer and is starting to like his exersaucer.  He started putting his feet up on his monkey and bird on the bouncer.  It makes me laugh to see him maneuver his way around the bouncer to position himself the way he wants and then talk to the monkey.  He is growing up way too fast!

Big sister helping Little brother figure out what does what on the exersaucer.
I had to throw this one in.  Lily wants everything that Logan has.  The other day I found her in his car seat.  She is a great big sister and doesn't act like a baby, but she sure loves the things that belong to Logan.
