Winter Wonderland!

The past two days have been completely full of SNOW! It started snowing Tuesday night and now it is Thursday afternoon and it is still snowing! I hope this is no indicator of what the winter will be like. It is after all only the end of October! I like the snow to come after Thanksgiving and leave the end of January! Having said that, I do enjoy playing in the snow and so with this winter wonderland, we did just that! TJ worked from home on Wednesday and so he was able to finish early enough that we got to play in the snow with Lily! It was her first time to really play in the snow! She loved it! Of course it was hard for her to walk, but that didn't stop her from having a lot of fun! She had such a great time, that when she came in, she started to cry because she wanted to go back out! Now she grabs her boots and goes to the door. When the wind stops we will be out again! I just love snow covered landscapes, especially evergreen trees! They are so beautiful!
This is the view from our apartment. First snowstorm of the year and it es definatley one to document!
I love bibs on little kids! Lily looks so cute getting ready to go out and play! Both the bibs and the boots are way too big, but maybe by the end of the year they will fit!
I love this picture!
What a happy little girl playing in the snow!
Daddy helped Lily make a snow angel. She loved this! She laughed everytime he would move her arms or legs! It was fun to watch them have so much fun together! I look forward to playing in the snow a lot this year with her!
Lily and dad playing in the snow! What a great dad!

Growing so Fast!

Every day is so much fun being Lily's mom! I just love this little girl! She is also so smart! I have to share a cute little story about her. The other day we had a little friend over to babysit. Lily and her were playing with Lily's shoes. They both came out with two shoes. Lily had matching ones and wanted me to put them on her. Her friend came out with two different shoes. Lily took the two mismatched shoes into her room and came out with two matching ones! Lily loves her shoes and knows which go together! If our shoes are out she will bring them to us to put on. The other day we decided to put ours on her! She thought this was fun, even if she couldn't walk in them!
I found Lily in her toy bin the other day. I am not sure how she got in there by herself, but she was determined to get whatever toy she was after! This is one determined little girl! I love to see what she will do to get what she wants. She is really starting to help communicate to us what she wants. I was in the airport this last time and someone asked me if I had taught her sign language, but the answer to that is no. She figures out signs for what she wants on her own! Hopefully it wont be long until she is saying more and more! We have added a few words to our vocabulary, boo (book), ba (ball)!

I just love the pictures of dad and daughter reading books together. Lily loves her books and loves to share them with her dad! I hope she always has a love of books!

Never too Early!

TJ LOVES golf! He always says that our girls should try for golf scholarships because they are easier to get if you are a decent golfer. So it is never too early to start on the swing, right! Lily actually loves balls, especially golf balls so it was no stretch to introduce her to the game. She really loved helping dad putt and she even tried to do it herself! It was so fun to watch her get so into golfing with her dad! Scholarship here we come!

Family Pictures!

We had our family pictures taken the same time we did Lily's one year. I think we have started a tradition of a family BYU picture too! It was so much fun! What a good looking family I have! GO COUGARS!

Lily's ONE year Pictures

We took Lily to have her ONE YEAR pictures done the other day. She is so CUTE! We love her so much! We just wanted to share a few of our favorites.

Fall is in the Air!

I love fall. There are so many aspects of fall that I love...the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin candles, the fresh crisp air, the crunch of leaves under your feet, the warm blankets to warm after playing outside...the list goes on and on. I was so excited to share this love with Lily. The wind had blown all the leaves off the trees and the ground was dry and the weather wasn't freezing. This made for the perfect day to play in the leaves. TJ was also excited to be home early enough to play outside before dark! (Mom was excited too!) Verdict is....Lily LOVES to play in the leaves!

I just love this picture of Lily and Dad coming home from playing a little ball!

The Things We Do!

Lily is so much fun! We enjoy playing hard! Here are a few of the fun things we do....Lily thought it would be fun to play with ribbon. She wanted to wear them like scarves. She kept putting all the different colored ribbon around her neck and head for the door. She knew she looked good and so she was ready to hit the town! The top picture is a little fuzzy, but she would not stand still long enough to take a picture.

"Must get the keyboard. I can almost reach it. Just a little further!" Lily stopped at nothing to get the extra keyboard that was on the floor. She tried to push the dirty clothes out of the way and when that didn't work, she climbed right over. She eventually ended up in that tiny space with the keyboard to play with!
WE LOVE TO LAUGH! I think we do this most of all! This is Lily laughing while rocking in the chair. She loves to rock and laugh! I have such a happy little girl!
This happy smile is due to a very yummy, very big lollipop we got from Hammond's Candy Factory. It went EVERYWHERE! She sure enjoyed eating it and will be able to eat it for a very long time due to its size!

One of Lily's favorite things to do...watch sports with Dad! This is Lily trying to eat her bottle, but too excited to watch the game. She always looks at the screen and gets excited to say ball. She then goes right up in front of the TV and stands there watching for a few minutes. She also loves to sit on Daddy's lap as she watches too! What a special bonding time for Dad and Lil!

Aunt Tiff Came to Visit!

We were very lucky and had a special visitor this past week! We had Tiffany, TJ's sister, come and stay with us! We were so excited for her to come and when she came we had so much fun! The first day she got here we hung out and then went downtown and met TJ for dinner. Then we played games until really late. It was fun to play games each night and stay up late. I have to add that Lily LOVED having Tiff here. She was so cute with her the whole week. We are sad that she had to go:( Here is what we did...
The first full day we had it snowed most of the day. So we packed up and went to the Aquarium. We had a great time. It was Lily's first time and I would say that she liked the fish.

What a huge fish! At least three Lily's!

The sharks are the best part of the Aquarium. In the room that they are in there are a few holes on the floor. Lily was afraid to walk on them or touch the glass when the sharks were close. She did enjoy seeing the huge sharks swim around.
Friday TJ took the day off and we all got to play together! Plus it was a lot nicer weather. Our first stop was the Hammond's Candy Factory. They make all handmade candy. It was incredible to see them go through all the processes. It went pretty quickly too. The candy tastes pretty good too!

This guy is making lollipops. To be a candy maker it takes two years to learn the trade!
Lily thought it was fun to watch. She was wishing she had a sucker in her hand! We haven't given her her lollipop yet because they are huge! She is going to love it!

Brother and Sister enjoying time together! TJ was so excited that Tiff came. He was especially glad he got to take a day off to play with us!
After the candy factory we went to a pumpkin patch in Broomfield. We took Lily to the same one last year when she was only three weeks old. This time she enjoyed her self so much! She was even able to find a pumpkin just her size with the help of her aunt Tiff!

Lily also got to pet a little pony at the petting farm.
When we got home we made Carmel apples because what would a fall day spent at the farm be without Carmel apples to top it off? YUMMY!
These last two pictures is what Lily did the rest of the time we were at home with Tiff. She loved Lily's purse and phone. What a girl! It was fun to watch her partially carry partially drag the purse around the apartment while talking on the phone to 'grandma'!
Then Saturday TJ and Tiff hung out with Lily while I was in charge of Super Saturday for our Ward. When I got done we entertained a few of TJ's cousins that came into town to watch the Broncos play. We had too much food and played games and had a great time. We sure love having a house full of people! We welcome visitors to come and visit us anytime!
