Princess Lily's Royal Ball!

It is so hard to believe that TOMORROW my baby girl will be FOUR years old!  It seems like just yesterday I was going into the hospital a week OVERDUE to be induced!  There is a part in the movie The Princess Diaries where Queen Clarisse is told that she is late and she responds with, "A Queen is never late.  Everyone else is simply early!"  This must be Lily's motto!  We, as her family, were early and she came into this world right on time!  She has graced us with her royal presence ever since!   She has been a true blessing in our family since the day she made her grand entrance into this world!  So in Royal fashion, we held a ball to celebrate this beautiful Princess!  The only Princes that were allowed to come were Daddy and Logan!  We had such a great time!  Lily was so excited and she was purely happy during the party!  I love to make my family feel special on their birthday!  I really feel Lily felt special as we celebrated her big day with her friends!

Lily is such a smart young lady!  She catches on to whatever is being taught so quickly.  She is always asking how things work and why!  She wants to understand everything!  Most of the time I leave a conversation with her deeply thinking about some gospel principle that I hadn't thought about before!  She has a thirst for learning and a love of reading, especially the scriptures!
Lily has a love of music and dance.  She brightens our home with her beautiful songs and dances.  She will dance for hours.  She always asks for music and will dance and dance!  And if you are ever so lucky, she will sing you an original song!  Her originals are usually about love and making good choices!  Some of her favorite songs are, Brightly Beams and I Love to see the Temple!  My favorite song to have her sing to me is, I came to Earth!  I hope she will always strive to increase this talent!
Lily has such a loving heart!  Out of the blue she will give me butterfly kisses and tell me how much she loves me and that I am the best mother on the earth!  She wont go to bed without giving her baby brother kisses and hugs!  She notices when people are sad and wants to make them happy!  She is kind to younger friends and helps them when they need the help!
Lily is a friend to everyone!  She doesn't care who you are she likes you!  Once you are her friend, you are always her favorite person!  She thinks of everyone as her best friend and her most cherished friend!  I have so much to learn from this sweet girl!
The beautiful princesses dancing to princess music!  We had three Rapunzels, two Cinderellas, two Snow Whites, and a Barbie Princess!  It was so much fun!
 Decorating their Princess Crowns

Who doesn't love a Princess swinging a Bat!  So just a cute story to remember...Once Lily hit the pinata,  Daddy told her, "Wow!  Home Run!" (meaning she hit it great!)  Well, Lily heard home run and took off running the bases!  Daddy was too proud!  I guess all the baseball games in the back yard have paid off!
I just  love to watch little kids open presents!  It always starts with one or two kids standing close wanting to help and then all the kids end up right around the birthday kid!

 Cake time!

We love our Lily so much!  We are so blessed to have her in our family!  She is such a joy to be around!  I look forward to watching her grow up...just not too fast!

Soup Day!

This past Thursday was Soup Day at Preschool!  Lily was so excited that we would be able to go to her class and see her program!  They acted out the story of Stone Soup.  After the story, they sang us some songs and then shared some stone soup with us!  Leading up to soup day, everyone had to bring their favorite vegetable to school.  I asked Lily what her favorite veggie was.  She told me asparagus.  I figured this was going to be it!  She truly does love asparagus!  I was also hoping that she would pick something else because asparagus is NOT in season right now.  But she insisted and so she took asparagus to school for her stone soup!  Logan and I had a great time watching the program and sharing the soup!  I look forward to all the other programs we will get to see!

Logan sure loved watching the kids!  He sure loves his sister and loves watching what she is doing!

Enjoying her hard work!

Zoo with Friends!

We once again went to the Zoo!  Yes, we go there a lot!  We LOVE the Zoo!  Because we go so much, we get to see a lot of different behaviors among the animals.  This time we were able to see the elephant show!!!  This show is by far the coolest elephant show I have seen at any Zoo!

This trip we went with our good friends Aleida and Valeria and Rebecca!  The first time I went with Aleida to the Zoo was when Lily was about 18 months and Valeria was just a couple months old!  Then we added Logan and this time we added Rebecca!  Oh how time flies!  We are so glad to have such great friends to spend out time with!

Lily is such a great big sister and LOVES all babies!  Any time she is around babies, she wants to hold them and play with them.  She is always so gentle with them too!  This time she was playing patty cake with Rebecca!
When our Zoo got the new Elephant exhibit, they brought in two new males with tusks!  I just love elephants with tusks!  Groucho is one of the stars of the new elephant show.  He is massive!  His tusks have been cut because they were too big for him to be able to move his trunk.  His ear contracted a disease and so half of it has been removed.

Groucho also loves to be in the water.  He is also a poser!  It is incredible to watch him walk underwater and then come up and pose for everyone!  We have been to the show twice so far and I already cant wait until next time!  I just love it!

Ballerina Lily!

Lily started Ballet again!  She is quite the ballerina!  We went to her first class and after the class was over, Lily came up to me and told me the teacher wanted to talk to me.  I thought she was going to tell me that Lily had a hard time.  No!  She instead asked me if I could bring Lily to her 11 o'clock class instead.  She said that Lily was advanced beyond the current class and that she would like Lily to come to her advanced class.  I asked if she was sure that Lily was ready for the advanced class.  She said she really was!  This class only has 3 students in it.  They do more of the technique and actual dances.  Last class it was just Lily and her friend from Church in the class.  She had a great time and is learning so much!  I sure do love my little ballerina!
