Amy Butler Bags

Last Friday a group of friends got together and made these super cute bags. We all had our cameras, but all forgot to take pictures during the process but here are a few of the finished products. It was a super fun day with the girls. I am now inspired to make more myself. I just love the pattern we used. Thanks Tricia for inviting us to your home!
This is the Finished product! I think it turned out super cute!
Modeling my bag
Lily was so good for me. She played with Bryce, ate, napped for a little while, and enjoyed watching from the highchair! What a good little girl!
These are the bags we finished. We need to find a new project to tackle next!

Yum Yum Yum!

One taste of an ice pop and Lily was hooked! Now when she sees us open one she starts screaming at us until we share. It must feel really good on her gums and taste yummy in her tummy! The only part that is hard for her is when it is all gone. Then she cries and cries in hopes that she will get more. Then when she decides that she isn't getting more she moves on and finds a toy to play with.
First taste...
Enjoying the ice pop
Unhappy that it is gone!

Books..Books...and More Books!

Lily has a great LOVE of Books! Ever since she was born she has taken a special interest in books. We use them to entertain her during Sacrament and any other time that wee need her to be quiet. At first she would read the book and then eat them. Now she just reads them over and over again. She climbs over anything to get to her books. I hope that she keeps her love for books!

Unexpected, but Welcomed Guest!

TJ got an unexpected but welcomed phone call Tuesday night at about 10:30 pm. It was his dad who was stranded in Denver for the night. He was on his way to Alaska when he missed his connection by about 5 minutes due to our 8 days of tornado warning, thunder storming weather! He wouldn't be able to get a flight until the next morning so he came and crashed on our couch! We are so glad he called and could come. It is nice that we live so close to the airport that we could do it! He was lucky enough the next morning to get to see Lily for a minute before he had to leave. They read a book together and Lily showed off her amazing crawling skills before TJ took him back to the airport! We are glad to say that he did finally make it to Alaska!

Our Crazy Crawler and Silly Sleeper!

Lily is 8 months old now! With that has come a lot of changes. One being we now have a crawler! I now have to watch her every move so she doesn't get into trouble! She has already put a rock in her mouth she dug out of the carpet, ate a piece of popcorn that she found, gotten a wii remote to play with, and pulled everything off the bottom shelf of the pantry shelf! She also claps and waves. She loves to sing and talk like crazy too!

Before Lily was even crawling, she could sit up from the crawling position. At first I thought it was great because when she was playing on her tummy she could get herself up when she was done. Now I call it a nightmare! When I place her in her crib to nap or sleep for bed, she gets herself sat up and starts to play with her crib and binki. Sometimes she will start to cry in hopes that she will be picked up and taken out of her crib. Sorry for her she has a mean mom and wont rescue her. The first couple of times she did this it would take her between half an hour to an hour to finally lay down and sleep. One night it was after 9 when she finally fell asleep after being put down at 8. Now you may be thinking that she isn't tired, well she always is when I put her to sleep. She will rub her eyes red she is so tired, but she still wants to sit and play. I also go in a few times through her "play" time to lay her back down, put her blanket back on and give her her binki, but she still takes a while to fall asleep. The past few nights it has been 10 minutes and she is out. Hopefully it wont be much longer before she is back to falling right to sleep when she is laid down! Cross my fingers that the next stage is not worse than this one! I do have to say that the one thing she got from me is the way she sleeps. There is no hiding that she looks like TJ, which I love. There is also no hiding that she sleeps crazy like me! Okay, so I don't sleep with my bum in the air like she does sometimes, but we both sleep in crazy positions and always move into other poses during the night. I always find her in some other position and can't help but laugh she is so cute! Here are a few of my favorite sleeping pictures!
Don't worry I was right by her side while she was asleep on the couch. I had just taken a nap with her before I got up and took the picture.
I would venture to say that this is her favorite way to fall asleep. She will then roll onto her side, that's the way I sleep.

I Survived Survivor!

So my new calling in our ward is Enrichment Leader...what were they thinking! Well last night was our first activity and I think it was a success due to the great help I had planning it...thanks everyone who helped me! Our activity was "Survivor Night". We learned how to survive Physically, Spiritually, and Economically. We then put our skills to work and fought it out in battle to see who was the strongest tribe. We had three great mini classes covering the three areas. Then we had three challenges to weed out the weakest tribes. The two strongest tribes fought it out in the final tribal council for 100 Grand...and then the winner was decided. It was fun to watch women of all ages competing and talking trash to the other tribes - in a sisterly love sort of way! We had pregnant women doing the crab walk and pushing people out of the way to get ahead! We had older women racing across the courtyard to stack cups and much much more! I only wish I had my camera to capture all the excitement! I would have to say the most challenging of all the challenges we did was the puzzle...it was pure entertainment! Most of all I am glad that it is over! Now I have an activity under my belt and I have a few weeks before I need to start on planning the next activity. IF I CAN ASK FOR ANY HELP...ANY IDEAS OF THINGS YOU HAVE DONE DURING SUPER SATURDAY OR WOULD LIKE TO DO - WOULD YOU LEAVE A COMMENT AND SHARE YOUR IDEA. I FEEL SO OUR OF MY LEAGUE IN PLANNING SUPER SATURDAY! SO ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS ARE WARMLY WELCOMED!!!!

CURTAINS

Lily started waking up earlier than normal and I had to fix that quick! Her room is the first room to get the sun and the blinds just didn't work well enough to keep the light out. I decided that I would make her curtains. I bought some cute purple fabric with white Daisey fabric to go over the purple. I wasn't sure how they would turn out since I have never made curtains before and I didn't have a pattern. Luckily they turned out pretty well! Since we are in an apartment without curtain bars, I thumb tacked it to the wall for the time being. They make the room a lot darker and so cute! Next it will be a shelf for the wall to put cute crafts on!

One Year Older and Wiser Too!

TJ had a very special day yesterday! He had a birthday! It was fun to make him feel special all day long. The only downer, if you could call it a downer, was that there was no breakfast in bed because it was Fast Sunday. It still was a great day! I love TJ so much! He is such a wonderful husband and father. To celebrate his birthday he got presents one by one throughout the week. Then on Saturday we went to a movie and came home and had Pizza. Sunday we had some friends come over to celebrate and have cake and ice cream. We have some pretty amazing friends - thanks for coming to honor TJ!
The Birthday Boy! What a handsome man! I hope your day was amazing!
Our little family
I don't know what came over me - I got the camera out to take pictures but had to be reminded by a friend that I wasn't taking any! Ooops! So instead of a picture of the cake and cupcake before they were eaten or of TJ blowing out the candles you get a picture of half eaten cake! I must be better about taking before pictures!
Opening presents - Dorthy was a little worried that TJ wasn't going to open his presents before the party was over so he made a special point to open his gift so Dorthy could see!
JK and Leana
Drew and Michael (Michael and TJ served in the same mission at the same time but only met here in Colorado!)
Tricia and Preston
TJ and Lily playing ball before the party. Lily is getting really good at passing the ball back and forth. She really likes this game!
Lily giving DaDa her gift. She modeled it for him and I must say that she looks so good in her dad's clothes!

A Day with Dad...Oh What Fun!

Weekends are a favorite in our house! We get to spend a lot of time with our favorite guy! Last weekend TJ got to pick everything we did on Saturday. We had so much fun! First we went to the Zoo. It was so fun to watch the two of them explore and discover. Lily was really into the animals this time. She especially liked the birds, the bears, and the penguins. After the zoo we got to go swimming. This is Lily's favorite activity. She starts to get excited as soon as she has her bathing suit on. TJ loves swimming just as much as Lily and mom loves to watch the two of them have fun. We had a super fun day with our dad!!

Lily pointing at the penguins. She sure was having a great time watching them play.

This is my favorite picture of the two of them. They were enjoying each other as they watched the elephants play!
I love this expression. Lily was mesmerized by the birds flying during the bird show.
The two of them enjoying the water. It was fun to watch them play in the water. They were both laughing and splashing and having a great time together.
