Look What I can Do!

We had a lot of family come into town the beginning part of September. (More on that Later!) My parents came into town a day early. Lily was in Heaven having her Grandparents to herself! We were playing outside and Grandpa taught Lily how to roll down the hill! It was so much fun to watch! If she would go down sideways, she would get done and say that it was too heavy. If she went straight, she would get so excited and run up the hill to go again. Oh the joys of being a child!

Love the big smile on her face as she gets ready to go down the hill!

Big Girl Bed!

The beginning of September we took Lily to buy her a BIG GIRL BED! She was so excited! Before we went, she would say she wanted a white pillow and a purple bed. Well these were easy enough. I had planned on purple bedding anyways and pillows are white, so we were set! We took her to the store and she would tell everyone that she was getting a new bed with the biggest smile! When we finally got her bed all set up, she couldn't wait to go to bed in her new purple bed! The next day we were having lunch and she finished and stated, "I go sleep in my purple bed now!" She did just that. We were a little worried about her new freedom with her new bed, but she stays in bed and takes her nap and at night she goes right to bed. She did fall out the second night, but now we have the railing up and she is loving being a big girl!I love this picture because it shows just how excited she is to have a new bed!

My totally awesome brother, Collin

For whoso is faithful unto the obtaining these two priesthoods of which I have spoken, and the magnifying their calling , are sanctified by the Spirit unto the renewing of their bodies. They become the sons of Moses and of Aaron and the seed of Abraham, and the church and kingdom, and the elect of God. (Doctrine and Covenants 84:33-34)

Today, my dad gave my brother Collin the Melchizedek Priesthood and ordained him to the office of elder. We weren't able to attend the ordination, but I just want him to know that I'm proud of him.

Good job fatty! I love you and I'm glad to have you as a brother!

I Love to See the Temple

A few months back Lily really started to get into the Temple! We talked about it in Family Home Evening and she also talked about it in Nursery. From these two lessons, she has gained a real love for the Temple! Every time she sees a picture of the Temple, she gets very excited. Every night she requests that TJ sing "Lub see Temple," and some nights it is requested multiple times. We can't start getting ready for bed without Lily requesting, "I love to see the Temple." If you ask her where she is going to get married, she will respond with "the Temple!" So back in August, TJ and I decided that we would take her to the Denver Temple after Church, so we could avoid crowds and she could wonder around. To say she was EXCITED is an understatement! All the way there, she was so excited to be taking a trip to the Temple! When she got out of the car her smile just grew!Denver Temple
While we were walking around the Temple, TJ asked Lily who is on top of the Temple. Her first response was, "Jesus." Quickly followed by, "Moroni." She would say, "Pretty White Moroni Temple," as we walked around! She is just too cute! We also talked about how the Temple is Jesus and Heavenly Father's house. She thought that was really cool!

I love that she is admiring the Temple in this picture! She was amazed at how big it was. The last time she was at the Temple was back in December for TJ's sisters wedding. She was just over one and didn't really know what was going on. Now she just LOVES to see the Temple!
We also enjoyed the beautiful flowers that are around the Temple! Lily enjoyed all the different colors!

This was such a great experience for our little family! To see our sweet Lily get so excited about the Temple brought us great joy! We hope to one day take her inside the Temple and show her the beauty found inside! We hope her love for the Temple grows and grows!

Daddy Daughter Olympics

Last month, Lily and I had the opportunity to participate in the annual Parkview Ward Daddy Daughter Olympics. This was an exciting event for dads and daughters of all ages. I really enjoyed the time with Lily. She was the youngest competitor but enjoyed the fun and the competition.

We had a balloon race

A 3-legged race

A water balloon toss

A sack race (no good pic)
And a plank race

(Lily decided to watch that one out and take a water break.)

We got a pretty good work out, broke a sweat, and I had a blast hanging out with my daughter. She told anyone who would listen about the event for 2 weeks after it was over. She especially loved that she got wet when the water balloon broke.

I look forward to participating in this event year after year.

More Summer Fun!

We really have enjoyed our summer! So much that we are way behind in updates and will be for a while!
The end of July we went on a rafting trip with TJ's family. There are no pictures from that until I develop our waterproof camera. -What ever did we do before digital and blogs?! - We had a really good time. We went on the Colorado River. That was the last trip we took this summer. The rest of our fun has been here in Colorado. You will have to wait for posts to come about all the fun but to hold you over until then, here are some pictures from the end of July beginning of August! We went out to lunch at Old Chicago after doing some shopping. Lily had not had a nap yet, and so she decided that the restaurant was as good a place as any to take her nap.
One of Lily's favorite things to do is throw the Frisbee with Daddy! She has quite the arm, just in the other direction than she intends to throw it! It is quite fun to watch her wind up to throw and then see it fly behind her! We are working on the release!

Lily also enjoys playing with her Daddy on her yard toys. She gets laughing so hard. She is so much fun to watch grow up!
Two best friends having the best time together!
