ROAD TRIP - Part 2

After leaving Utah, we drove up to Idaho to meet up with the Warner Family for a family trip. We left early Wednesday morning and drove to Cody Wyoming. Along the way we stopped at some very beautiful places. First stop was the Palisades Reservoir. I love nature and the beauty we have all around us!
Then we headed into Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We stopped for lunch at the famous (at least among the family) Bubba's BBQ and then went to the antler park. These three little girls sure smile a lot around each other!

What is a trip to Jackson with out the famous antler pictures!

Lily and Zoey had a great time playing and holding hands!
Lily also talked Grandpa into swinging her!
We left Jackson Hole and went to the Tetons National Forest. This is one of my favorite places to go. Growing up I have been able to hike some of the Tetons. For TJ it was his first time and he loved it. We went to Jenny Lake while we were there.

Then it was off to Yellowstone National Park. At first we weren't seeing any wildlife. We were starting to get a little disappointed, until....we saw not one but TWO bears! The first one we saw was pretty far away and we had to use binoculars to see him. We only knew he was there because there were a ton of people pulled over. Well we got back into the car and not 100 feet away, I yell to TJ to stop the car and pull over because there is a bear! This one was a Grizzly! He was so close to us and then he climbed the hill and crossed the road right behind our cars! I have gone to Yellowstone many times and never seen a bear! This trip we saw a total of 3!
We stayed just outside of Cody Wyoming that night. The next morning we got up and went into Cody to walk around and go to the different museums there. On our way we stopped at the Buffalo Bill Dam. WOW! It was pretty! I guess there are places in Wyoming, not in Yellowstone, that are pretty!!!

Lily has her Grandparents wrapped around her little fingers! Lily sure enjoyed them!
In Cody we went to the Buffalo Bill Museum, which is 5 museums in one! It was huge! We went in the gun museum first! WOW it was HUGE!! We could have spent a whole day in just that section of the museum!
Mark and Jenni's family met us in Cody. When they got there, the kids had so much fun playing with the bubbles. Lily sure likes her older cousins! They all loved the bubbles!

This was just too cute not to share! Sadie really liked Lily's Cowgirl hat and kept lifting it up so she could see Lily's face!
Lily is dressed and ready to go to the Rodeo! Lily loves the Rodeo and all the animals. She will no longer tell you a horse says, "nay" but that it says, "Yee ha!" It was fun to go to the Rodeo. They had a really cool flag presentation since it was the 4th of July weekend. They started out with all the military flags. Thanks to a Little brother of mine that went and joined the Air Force, I could hardly choke back the tears when they brought out the Air Force flag! I sure am proud of my little brother Steven! After the military flags they brought out the American Flag and the firefighters hung it on their fire engine. It was very cool to watch!

Day 3 we went back into Yellowstone, this time through the North. This is were we saw a lot of animals. We saw lots of Buffalo, Lily calls them bufatables. I just love our little Lily and her spin on words! We were able to see some baby Buffalo as well! There was one guy that thought he needed to handle the traffic situation and decided to lead the cars over the bridge! Thanks to my sister-in-law Jenni we have this awesome shot taken from the sunroof!

Lily got a Moose during our trip and loved him all the way through the park! She wasn't feeling that great, so it was nice for her to have someone to hug and help her feel better!
We stopped for lunch at Tower Falls. It was beautiful! We hiked a short way to the falls and enjoyed the beauty around us!

As we were leaving the park, we decided that we needed a picture of our trip so it came at the end of our journey through Yellowstone! It was really fun to take different routs through the park. TJ and I have both only ever been through West Yellowstone, and now we can say we have seen parts of the park that we had never before seen! It was a lot of fun.
Once we left the Park, we headed to Island Park, in Idaho. I LOVE Island park! We stayed at Macks Inn. For dinner that night we went to the Playhouse and watched the Melodrama! It was fun, but we had to leave early to put Lily to bed. She was not feeling good at all. Thanks to Brian and Debbie for the Tylenol, otherwise, it would have been a long night!

The next morning we went to breakfast and were served by the same people that acted in the Melodrama! Lily enjoyed her breakfast very much!
After Breakfast, we floated the Snake River just up from Macks Inn. It was a lot of fun. We had to have two rafts to hold us all! Lily slept through most of it, but the parts she was wake for, she enjoyed!
All the Warner Grandchildren
Working hard!
So as we are floating down, there were two fisherman out and they told us if we were really quiet we could see some Moose just down the way. We quickly paddled all the way over to the opposite side, and sure enough we saw not one but three Moose! I was so excited, but very nervous. Moose are not very nice and it was a whole family including a calf so we were a little nervous! We made it safely past them as they finished their drink in the same river we were in and then walked off. I have always wanted to see a Moose, and now I have! It was AWESOME!!!

After floating the river, we headed to Idaho Falls to a BBQ at my Aunt and Uncle's house. It was a lot of fun. We tried to get some pictures of the four girls in matching skirts, thanks to Mel, but I did not get any good ones.

Lily talked Uncle Stevey into swinging her around! She can hardly wait for him to come and play in Denver before leaving for Afghanistan. We were glad we got to see him and Annie while we were there!

Sunday Lily spent a lot of time SLEEPING! She slept 7 hours during the day and still slept through the night! She played with Grandma and laughed too! Monday morning we drove back to Colorado. It was a super fun vacation! Very busy, but very fun! We sure love our families and had a great time with them both! There you have it! Our trip covered many miles, but made even more memories!

Road Trip - Part One!

We took a 10 day, 2335 mile, 5 state road trip the end of June beginning of July! It was a really fun trip! Our first stop was Lehi Utah and the Gray Family! We had a great time with the Gray side! The first think Lily said when we made it to Grandma's house was, "Park! Play Park!" Grandma Gray got a swing set for Mother's day for the grandkids! Lily LOVED it! She also loved the hose! Lily and Tiff are best buds! Lily loved playing in the sandbox and drinking from the hose with her Ninee!
She also enjoyed her Cassie!
One of the reasons we chose this weekend to travel to Utah was to celebrate the Lehi Roundup! I had never been to a rodeo and so TJ wanted my first to be the Lehi Roundup! It was a lot of fun! Lily sure enjoyed the parts she was awake for! We left Denver Friday morning at 5 am. Lily only had a half hour nap along the way and then decided she needed another 30 min nap during the rodeo!

This is after her nap! She sure loved the bull riding and sitting on Grandpa Gray's lap!
Saturday morning there was a parade! Lily enjoyed spending time with her cousins Wyatt and Cody. They also really enjoyed the candy! Lily was even climbing under Grandma's chair to pick it up!
Here she is trying to sit on Cody's lap! Silly girl!

Sunday morning Lily helped Grandma practice her Primary songs for Church!
We went up West Canyon and had tinfoil dinners! Lily played a little in the creek with Daddy!
Lily really liked eating her watermelon!

Monday we went to Cabela's to see the fish and the stuffed animals! Wyatt and Lily sure enjoyed each other! They would follow each other around and laugh!

Then it was off to Thanksgiving Point and the Animal Farm! Lily and Wyatt rode the horses.

After the Farm we went to visit Lily's Great Grandma and Grandpa Goble. She left there with a new beautiful afghan for her babies!

Of course Grandma treated to Icey's on the way home! We had a great time with the Gray's before we headed up to Idaho for the Warner Family Vacation!
