Just Waiting and Waiting
The anticipation is building! We are getting so excited to meet our little girl. She has been at the center of our thoughts for the past nine months... who will she look like?, when will she come?, what will we name her?, will we be good parents? All the usual questions that new parents to be think about. Well the time is just about here and she could come any day now. Her official due date is the 23rd of September, but we would love to meet her before then. Knowing my luck we wont get to meet her until after that date, but we will give her the time she needs. The excitement of what she will look like is just eating at me. Lucky for me I got to see her yesterday at our doctors appointment. The doctor couldn't feel her head in the cervix so he pulled out the ultrasound machine to check her positioning. She is positioned correctly, she is just still pretty high. But since we were already looking at her he showed me how she is doing. She is already doing the breathing movements, even though she is still receiving oxygen from the umbilical cord. I also got to see her little heart beat and her legs and arms kick and stretch. This movement I feel a lot, but it is fun to see too! So everything is looking great. She is measuring good and developing great. Now all we have to do is wait for her to come. We will keep everyone posted on how things are and when she comes.
Spoiled Already!
So our little girl is already very much loved! She has received so many beautifully hand made quilts that I had to show them off. We are so grateful for the quilts and know that each was made with so much love.
This one was made by Grandma Gray (TJ's mom). The colors are so fun and I love the edges. This is the Gray's first granddaughter! Usually Gray families start out with a boy, but we decided to be different!
This one was made by Grandma Warner (my mom). It is so soft and super cute! Each of the Warner grandchildren have one. Our little girl will be number 4 grandchild, number 3 girl, with another little boy cousin to join the scene in January!
This is a very special one for me. Great Grandma Warner (my grandma) made this one. Her goal was to make a blanket for each of her grandchildren to give to their first child. I watched her make these for years and waited anxiously for the day to come when I got mine. It means all the more to me now that she has passed away and this is something that I get to give my little girl to help her know just how much her great grandma loves her and is watching out for her.
Auntie Kimmy made this one for our little one! Kim is always putting so much thought into the gifts that she gives her family. They always show just how much she loves us! I love the bright colors!
This last one was made for us by a special friend I have made here in Colorado. Trisha Thomas - who happens to be one of my college roommates cousins - is super talented and super onderful! She along with two other great friends, Pilar and Laura, threw me a baby shower. Thanks for all the love and hard work that went into the shower and especially the quilt!
