For our third annual 4th of July trip with the Torres family, we headed to Utah! We thought it would be fun to show them around some place that we love! We were able to stay at TJ's parents house and use their amazing backyard for some amazing fun! We sure love this tradition!
Day 1 - We left Denver early in the morning. After MANY stops and eleven hours later, we FINALLY made it to Utah! First order of business was pool time! Lily walked in the house, said hi, and then went to get her swim suite! To finish off the night, we had a fire and roasted marshmallows!
Day 2 - We woke up and got ready. The kids played the piano, a must while at Grandma's! Then we headed to Thanksgiving Point. We were able to go to The Farm, The Museum of Ancient History, and the Museum of Natural Curiosity. All were so much fun! The kids loved riding the ponies, digging for dinosaur bones, and exploring the many rooms at the Curiosity Museum! After our day at Thanksgiving Point, we went to Porter's Place. Then we put the kids to bed and hit the hot tub! What a great relaxing way to end the night!
Day 3 - We spent the morning of the Fourth hiking Mount Timpanogos! This was a very ambitious hike to take the kids on! They did amazing though! They walked the whole way! We really enjoyed the caves too! Once we got down the mountain, we swam in the swimming pool and than had a BBQ! Then we got ready and headed to watch the fireworks. The best part of spending the Fourth in Utah was the fireworks. They were EVERYWHERE! They were seen up and down the valley. The light was truly lit up!
It got a little sunny in the cave!;) I love my Lily!
We were able to get a four generation picture with the Goble's!
Day 4 - Because we were hiking on the fourth, we decided to have the kids wear their outfits today. We started the morning with a little photo shoot! Then we were off to show the Torres family Temple Square! We toured the Conference Center, had lunch at the Garden restaurant, toured the Beehive House and the Lion House, walked around the Temple, went to the Tabernacle and then ended tour at the North Visitors Center. It was a great day! Then we headed back to Grandma's and went swimming one last time.
Sunday morning we headed back to Colorado. We had a great trip! We have such wonderful friends! Until next year! Thank you Grandma Gray for letting us come and stay! We sure had a great time!
