Uncle Stevie and Aunt Annie Visit!

My little brother, who is not so little anymore!, and his wife came to visit us for a few days.  They had been on a month long road trip and we were there last stop before headed home and back to work.  Steven just got back from Afghanistan.  The last time we saw him and his wife was last 4th of July, so we were very excited to spend some time with them.

The first day we went downtown and walked around.  It was fun to walk around.  I have walked around the 16th street mall, but that is about it!  I have lived here for 4 years and this was a first for me!
The first stop was the big blue bear that looks into the Convention Center.  Denver has a lot of unique art sculptures around town.
We found this sculpture on our way to have street tacos with TJ.  I thought it was interesting.  The tacos were really good!
Next was a stop at PINKBERRY!  Annie was extra excited to stop here!  It was DELICIOUS!
Logan got to eat at Pinkbery too!  Not as tasty as ours but it was still satisfying I am sure!

After Pinkberry we went down to Confluence park.  This park is in LODO - lower downtown - and has the Platte River running through it.  There are lots of trails to go on as well as lots of places to play in the water.  Lily wasn't so sure about walking in the water.  It was the first time outside of a cement floored water feature and she wasn't quite sure about the sand and rocks, so what did she do?...She had her Uncle Stevie hold her to play!  She was in Heaven!

After the park we were walking back to the car and once again Lily was found in her Uncle Stevie's arms! and a little tired!
After nap time Lily got to have story time with Stevie and Annie!  She had this quality time almost every day they were here!
Annie taking in some Logan time!  Steven and Annie were the first of my sibblings to meet him.
And then there were magic tricks!  Lily was facinated with them!  She loved watching the ball dissapear!

Day two was spent in Winter Park!  This was a great day!  TJ took off work and we headed to the mountains.  I LOVE Winter Park and look forward to going back!  It was beautiful and the perfect temperature!

We got there in time for lunch.  We hit up a great Creperie.  Lily was able to have a PB&J crepe so she was super excited!
Steven and Annie tried to get Lily to run around unattended to see if they could get a free puppy!  The guy working said that we would have to pay for the airfair from Hawaii!  So needless to say we did not have an unattended child and we did not leave with a free puppy.

Lily got to go behind the counter and take her picture with the moose!

After lunch it was time for the real fun!  We took turns to go on the Alpine Slide!  It was so much fun!  Lily got to ride down with Dad!  She thought I should take Logan with me, but I thought that wouldn't be the best idea!  Next time I am going with the all day pass! Lily was a little nervous going on the chair lift, but once she realized that Mom would keep her safe, she loved it!  All the way down the slide she was  yelling, "Ride Um Cowboy."  and other sayings to express how much fun she was having!  It was a hit with everyone that went!
Next was a round of Mini Golf!  Lily was the first one to get a hole in one!  She also picked her own scores durning each hole.  I don't think she got the concept of lowest score wins.  She would always pick numbers between 6 and 9!  She will get it one day!

Showing off her ball right after her hole in one!

There was a little time spent on the toys.
A lot of time with Uncle Stevie throwing her in the air!
Some time spent playing the musical instraments around the village!

And some time spent in the train!

On the way home we stopped in Idaho Springs for dinner at BeauJo"s.  This is a popular Colorado treasure!  Pizza with honey on the crust.  It is amazing!  We also had some cheesey breadsticks with honey on them, delicious!  This BeauJo's is the original one and it is a very old building!
 More Story time that night!
Day 3 TJ ditched us for the 11 year old scout camp.  We went and saw Cars 3.  We all enjoyed the show.  Lily loved the popcorn and sitting next to Uncle Stevie!  Logan did great!  He even watched the first part!
Saturday we went to the Molly Brown house.  It was really interesting to learn more about "The Unsinkable Molly Brown,"  who was never actually called Molly.  The name stuck after the musical was written. She was really Margret!  Anyways it was fun to see the house and hear the history behind her and a little of the Denver history too!  I wish that we could have taken pictures inside!  She had exquisit taste for sure!

We also hit up the Lego store!  Lily was so excited to be able to fill her own container of Legos in any color she wanted!  I have a feeling we will be back many times in the future!  We went for the little Legos this time and we sure love to play with them.  She is growing up too fast!
That night TJ was back from camp and we went to our favorite place to share with guests, the Budepest Bestro.  We love to share the amazing food with them and it is something that not every place you visit has!  After dinner we had ourselves some delicious Magnum's icecream bars!  What a great meal!  I thank TJ for going to Hungary on his mission and introducing me to the amazing food!

Sunday morning we made some yummy Benyas!  Steven and Annie brought a mix from New Orleans to share with us!  They were so good!  After breakfast it was time to say goodbye.  We were sad to see them go, but so glad they came!  We look forward to more visits!  We love you guys!
